Co-Founder & Executive Director
Cari is a passionate professional with ten years of leadership and management experience and recently completed her MBA. She is well respected among colleagues for both her commitment to the cause and her positive attitude.
In 2013, Cari’s high school friend and Co-founder Talia Mohns encouraged her to volunteer in Arusha, Tanzania at Good Hope Orphanage. She had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful community and the very special children of Good Hope Orphanage. Driven to help these kids, she came home with the idea for what became Dreaming For Kids.
Cari has a passion for travel and has been fortunate enough to teach on three continents and visit various countries in hopes of creating a difference in children’s lives.
Co-Founder & Director
Talia Mohns is a Business Consulting Executive based in Toronto with an Honours Commerce Degree from the University of Ottawa. Born in Germany to a military family, she spent her childhood living in different cities around Canada and the USA. The experience of setting up and getting oriented in new cities from her earliest days sparked her lifelong love of travelling and all around curious spirit. In 2012 she took a year-long sabbatical to travel the globe with her husband.
While on her journey, she sought out a volunteer opportunity that would be authentic and present the opportunity to make a real impact. This search lead her to Good Hope Orphanage and School in Arusha, Tanzania, a local, family-run, grassroots organization that gives local children a shot at a better life. Her time spent with the incredible people at Good Hope changed her outlook and renewed her belief that the way to eradicate hatred and poverty around the globe is through EDUCATION.
In 2013 she co-founded Dreaming For Kids with her childhood friend Cari, who had just returned home from volunteering with the same organization in Tanzania. After seeing the tangible impact we’ve had so far, Talia is excited for Dreaming For Kids to grow and expand our reach.
